Java is the sweetest boy who was rescued from the Memphis euthanasia room with just moments to spare. This little guy is eager to please and is a true people pleaser! He does great in his crate when his people are around and will settle down quietly after a bit of initial crying when they leave. Java loves playing with his foster siblings and has even made valiant attempts to befriend the cats by offering his blankets and toys—though they haven’t quite caught on to the idea of tug of war!

He’s incredibly gentle and takes treats with the utmost care. While he’s still learning to walk on a leash, his food motivation makes him a quick study for training. Java is house-trained and crate-trained, as long as he’s promptly taken outside upon your return. Although he gets a bit distracted when someone is nearby during potty time, he’ll wait until he’s alone to do his business.

. He’s the perfect size for cuddling in or near your lap and is usually able to get up on the couch by himself. This lovable pup is guaranteed to occupy every corner of your heart. Java would thrive in any home, especially one with children or another dog-friendly pet.
