Tennessee Code §44-17-502(a)(3)(B) states

"No person shall adopt a dog or cat from an agency, including, but not limited to, an animal shelter, dog pound, animal control agency or humane shelter operated by a municipality, county, or other governmental agency within the state, or a private organization operating a shelter from which animals are adopted or reclaimed, unless: . . . The owner signs a written agreement with the agency stating that the new owner will have the dog or cat spayed or neutered by a licensed veterinarian: . . . Within thirty (30) days after the dog or cat reaches six (6) months of age, if the dog or cat is not sexually mature at the time of the adoption."

We understand that occasionally circumstances such as health of the animal may necessitate a delay in the surgery. If your veterinarian recommends a delay in the required surgery, please contact us immediately so that one of our organization's attending veterinarians can look over and review the recommendation. If our veterinarian denies the need for a delay, it will become your responsibility to either discuss it further with your own veterinarian, bring the animal to our veterinarian for spay/neuter, or seek out another veterinarian willing to perform the surgery.

Refusal to follow these instructions will constitute a breach of this contract which will result in forfeiture of your spay/neuter deposit and your animal being returned to us.

Once your puppy is spayed or neutered please email proof. A receipt or a spay/neuter certificate are fine. You can even take a photo with your phone and email it. Send it to spayneuterproverbs@gmail.com.

Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue thanks you for making adoption your first option.
